I do appreciate the point I think the article is trying to make, many worship at the altar of science just as blindly as those they deride as idiots and fools that do at the altar of religion. I sometimes get tired of the hard science people that pontificate about different topics with about the same fervor that they probably did when they were dubs. Unless I am mistaken scientists have revised their precious theories about as often as the GB has changed dogma over the years, and there is no dearth of scientists sniping at each other about crackpot theories etc.

by Low-Key Lysmith ini just found out that the po of my old cong who presided over my disfellowshipping meeting was just disfellowshipped himself for a long history of horriffic physical and emotional abuse of his wife and family.. while i feel terrible for his family, i can't help but crack a smile when i think of him sitting in a cell (he was incarcerated for his evil deeds) stewing in his own juices.
when i was a kid in the cong, this guy was the most opiniated, judgemental, hateful asshole i have ever known.
i feel to some extent that justice has been served.

Can someone help me to understand?
by hiccup ini am very new to this whole "religion" and although i have pulled up some information on jehovah's witnesses, i can't seem to get my arms around it.
the reason i have come here is because my father has been doing bible studies and readings for about 2 years now and over the last 6 months to a year he has been someone very different from who i used to know.
it all started with a near fatal car accident and then with my sister getting involved with drugs and running away with her boyfriend.

People that make lists of things that piss them off. Just kidding.
People that have no concept of how to use an expressway on ramp, ie: They roll down the ramp at 35 talking on their cell phone or with their finger up their nose or whatever and finally 50 feet from then end of the ramp they realize they should probably look around to see if they can merge, but of course they can't since they are going about half the speed of the traffic flow and yes, you guessed it they slam on the brakes and stop.

i am in the same position as many where i don't agree with so much the society says and feel stuck dragging myself to the meetings and then feel incredible guilt because the study for the day says it is wrong to have any doubts "even in private".
impossible for me!.
